Supported Partners, Initiatives & Beneficiaries:
Arms of Alpha Day of Service
Every Thanksgiving Day, the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated host their annual Arms of Alpha Day of Service performing service in their local community. We served with the men in 2019 at the Broad Street YMCA in Philadelphia to provide Thanksgiving Day meals, toys, and clothing to those in need before spending time with our families.
Bethanna
For Christmas 2022, BGB collaborated with The Ethel Lee Zachary Foundation to host our third annual holiday initiative to provide toys to children in need. Together, we blessed close to 100 children and could not have done it without the generosity of Bethanna byway of their space and coat donations.
Bethesda Project
Providing shelter to Philadelphia most vulnerable, Bethesda Project is one of our favorite charities to donate to and support each year during their annual auction. During the pandemic, Bethesda Project has also done an amazing job of keeping volunteers engaged by providing opportunities for individuals to donate from home and send homemade cards in for the holidays those staying in their shelters.
Global Citizen 365 x Love.fútbol
Together with Love.fútbol, Global Citizen 365 hosted an initative to revitalize the James Finnegan Playground in Southwest Philadelphia This was actually the very first service project Bosses Give Back participated in, and where we met the legendary Reverend Paul Moore Summer of 2019.

Great Family Gathering
For 17 years until the COVID-19 pandemic, the Church of Christian Compassion has hosted hundreds of houseless and low-income Philadelphians for a Thanksgiving meal called “The Great Family Gathering.” In 2019, the ladies of BGB had the pleasure of serving alongside the hundreds of other volunteers to make this annual event a success.
MaNNA
Pie in the Sky is MANNA’s largest fundraiser where each year volunteers bake and deliver tens of thousands of pies. Just before the COVID pandemic, in 2019 we had the pleasure of baking and packaging pies along with the great folks at MANNA, and look forward to serving again.
Broad Street Ministry
For almost 20 years, Broad Street Ministry has been offering an array of services for Philadelphians such as free meals, a community closet, free mail box services, and more. We’ve been fortunate to serve with the organization numerous times to provide hot meals to guests, and connect with other awesome volunteers we still keep in touch and serve with today.
Perfectly flawless foundation
Together with other women of different faith, BGB collaborated with the Perfectly Flawless Foundation to host a huge giveback during the pandemic for the former homeless encampment at Von Collin Memorial Park in Philadelphia. We distributed meals, fruit, toiletries, clothes, and shoes; and prayed with individuals who desired it.
red shield family residence
Despite being in the COVID-19, BGB knew that in 2021 we still desired to be impactful during the holidays and touch the youth, knowing how hard the past year had been on them. So we contacted our local Salvation Army location, and were told about their emergency housing system. With our community’s help, each child was able to get double the toys the facility intended!
ReverEnd Paul Moore’s Community Claus
For decades until his passing in 2021, Reverend Paul Moore served the Southwest Philadelphia Bartram Village neighborhood as the “Community Claus.” Children gathered to the community center and enjoyed the retired boxer’s Santa uniform, beard, music, candy canes, and jolly spirit. We were blessed to serve with him in 2019 and will forever cherish those memories.
Ronald mcdonald house
The Ronal McDonal House is a household name for most families, but what most don’t know is there are so many ways to get involved with the mega charity. Providing an innumerable amount of services and resources to sick children and their families, BGB has had the pleasure to support two Ronald McDonald House locations here in Philadelphia: one, serving as the in-house chef at the Erie St location and helping to remove holiday decoration at the West Philly house in 2020.
sunday breakfast (now “Philly House”)
Philly House serves 3 meals a day 365 days a year thanks to the support of individual and group volunteers preparing and serving their brothers and sisters in need. BGB had the pleasure of serving regularly at the shelter and seeing just how impactful having a place to sit down and connect for a meal truly is.
the ethel lee zachary foundation
For Christmas 2022, BGB collaborated with The Ethel Lee Zachary Foundation to host our third annual holiday initiative to provide toys to children in need. Together, we collected close to 200 toys and blessed close to 100 children with toys and coats for the holiday.
why not prosper, inc.
(Women’s Re-entry facility)
For the holiday season 2019, the members of BGB also decided to make gift bags containing toiletries, special gifts, gloves and warm coats for the women then-participating in the re-entry program. At drop off, we were able to pray with the women, and enjoy a meal together as well as some good music, laughs, and dancing.
